We have a great opportunity for an organised individual to join our Technology team based in Basingstoke reporting to the Software Team Lead. 

What you will do

The successful candidate will have a background in delivering complex database-centric products within demanding timescales. The purpose of this role is to design and develop new software, support and enhancing existing software related to road traffic management and control. 

The position will involve close liaison with other development teams and operational staff.

What we are looking for

  • Expertise with software development languages (such as C, C++, C#, Java etc).
  • PASCAL is a nice to have requirement
  • OpenVMS
  • Working in an structured development environment
  • Windows application development
  • A reasonable understanding of IP protocols
  • Degree level or equivalent 

In addition some or all of the following would be useful: 

  • Communications networks.
  • Network/element management.
  • Safety critical systems.
  • Enterprise systems.
  • Database design and development.
  • GIS mapping technologies and data representation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Full Driving License
