We are looking to recruit a Fibre Optic Maintenance Technician to join Dynniq’s Dublin Field Engineering Services team.

What you will do

This role requires a high level of technical knowledge and proven capability.

A primary objective of this role is to install, repair and maintain Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Communications equipment to customer specifications and ensure contractual obligations, terms and conditions are met, for a variety of Local Authority clients, at various locations throughout Ireland.

You will install, repair and maintain ITS Communications infrastructure including fibre optic cable, copper cable and transmission equipment to a high standard. Competently liaise with both customers & supervisors. You will also be required to carry out contract administration; e.g. timesheets and job numbers, stock requisitions, vehicle mileage forms, circuit schematic diagrams and technical reports.


You will be required to respond to faults and emergencies within contractual timescales and undertake activities as assigned by the contract supervisor. Ensure accuracy of fault data recorded on Fault Management System and the clients Data Repository System.


Although predominantly based in the Dublin area, there may be a requirement from time to time to work in other Service Centre districts which may involve overnight stays. You may also be required to work overtime and / or participate in a regular call out roster.

What we are looking for

In order to fulfill the role successfully the following are some of the key skills and experience required:

  • Department of Education Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
  • Part I or Part II of technical cert or equivalent (CGLI) including network certification.
  • Experience in similar role or within the traffic industry.
  • Knowledge of traffic management principles
  • Knowledge traffic signal controllers and ITS equipment
  • Computer literate
  • Chapter 8 Accreditation, Solas Safe Pass and CSCS Signing, Lighting and Guarding at Roadworks
  • Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
  • Organised, trustworthy and self-motivated
  • Full class B driving license, (Class C license an advantage)
