· To manage the production of MRP and MPS reports to ensure requirements are accurately identified to enable purchase of materials to meet production requirements.
· To organise the placement of purchase orders to fill the MRP requirements each week and hence maintain component supply in accordance with the production plan.
· To oversee all stock takes within the company and to ensure the highest level of accuracy practically possible is achieved in conjunction with the Stock & Stores Manager.
· To manage the stock aspects of SAP including regular reviews, and audits of stock items, price and all key details.
· By the use of minimised numbers of suppliers, negotiate terms and conditions, placement of purchase orders and expedite to achieve maximum cost benefit to the company.
· To develop framework agreements or similar arrangements to support ongoing production requirements.
· To continuously seek measurable improvement opportunities that will contribute to the Company’s profitability.
· To liaise with other departments, exchanging information and giving purchasing support to their functions.
· To maintain records of supplier performance, communicating with each supplier to improve performance and or implementing corrective actions where necessary.
· Maintain accurate records of supplier’s records, source details, lead times and prices. Recommend amendments to the approved supplier list.
- Resolving problems arising from unclear information on requisitions, specifications and drawings.
- To ensure material shortages are minimised and the necessary tools are developed to identify and manage materials that are overdue and that this information is distributed to others in a timely manner.
- To ensure necessary support and control of engineering changes (ECR’s) that directly affect purchased materials. To support requirement for introduction of new parts and customer enquiries.
- To attend meetings and provide reports and product information as required.
· The job holder will be a senior member of the Procurement & Supply team and will be expected to deputise for the Head of Procurement & Supply in his absence
· Manage and develop team members, ensuring they are motivated and carry out their duties to the best of their ability, achieving high standards of safety, cleanliness and tidiness.
